Roskilde, home to Denmark’s iconic Viking Ship Museum, is set to embark on a major transformation. The five original Viking ships, discovered in the 1960s in Roskilde Fjord, have faced decades of exposure to changing climates. Now, a carefully planned new museum will provide these historically significant ships with a purpose-built museum, ensuring their preservation for future generations.

This project goes beyond renovation, aiming to redefine how Viking Age heritage is preserved, interpreted, and shared with the public.
