The rune text begins at the tail end of the animal.

Runes

ᚼᚢᛚᛏᚢᚱ ‘ ᛒᛅᚦ ‘ ᚤᛒᛁᛦ ᚱᛁᛋᛏᛅ ᚱᚢᚾᛅ ᚦᛁᛋᛅ

hultur ‘ baþ ‘ ybiʀ rista runa þisa

Old Norse

Holmdorr(?) bað ØpiR rista runaR þessaR.

Holmdórr(?) ordered Œpir to carve these runes.

Notes

It is unusual that the commissioner hasn’t raised the stone in memory of someone else. Though the runestone L 145 is similar in this respect.
