Galdrakver (Lbs 143 8vo) — a small Icelandic parchment manuscript of 27 leaves, written in a single unknown hand in 1670 and once owned by Hannes Finnsson, Bishop of Skálholt.

The first seven folios carry hymns; the remainder is given over to a working repertoire of charms, prayers and galdrastafir, with diagrams and instructions for their use.

The manuscript contains the earliest known visual attestation of the ægishjálmur, drawn on f. 10v with the instruction that it should be made in lead and pressed to the forehead when one expects to meet one’s enemies.

The text-block measures roughly 102–105 mm × 60–65 mm across 17–21 lines per page, the first leaf darkened by soot and grease almost beyond legibility.
